TISSOT is about to launch a new version of the Seastar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80 and a new 36mm size SISTAR 1000 in Korea for the first time in its collection for the summer season that is fast approaching.
In the case of the Sistar 2000 Professional Powermatic 80, which was released in three versions last year and received great love, this year, in addition to the basic steel version, an all-black PVD coated steel version has been newly added to expand the choice. The diameter of the case is 46mm, the thickness is 16.3mm, and like its predecessor, it supports 600m water resistance. Not only does it meet ISO 6425, the international diving watch and equipment standard, but it is also equipped with a helium gas release valve system as it is a professional diver’s watch capable of saturated diving.
The movement follows the Powermatic 80.111 with an 80-hour power reserve with Nivachron™ balance springs that are resistant to magnetism and shock. The color of the gradation dial and the degree of processing of the case are changed in a variation form, so the overall specifications are not much different from existing products. Both come with quick-release quick-release rubber straps that can be easily replaced, or rubber straps lined with sturdy textile materials. The domestic release price was set at 1.31 million won for the steel version with black and gold two-tone harmony and 1.4 million won for the PVD coated steel version with black and dark blue colors in harmony.
Following the men’s 43mm (SISTAR 1000) and 46mm (SISTAR 2000), the 36mm lineup is a new addition to the SISTAR collection for the first time this year. The size itself corresponds to women’s by today’s standards, but it stands for a unisex diver’s watch that takes into account the tastes of Asian men with thin wrists or those who prefer a smaller size for fit reasons.
The screw-down crown and caseback design make it water resistant to 300m (1,000 feet), just like the previous 43mm version of the Sistar 1000. All three variants have in common the ETA F05.412 quartz caliber with date display in a steel case. It is a point that differentiates it from its predecessors equipped with a Powermatic caliber, and it is a point that shows that the price was much cheaper. The steel unidirectional rotating bezel has an unusual (?) mineral glass insert. It is also a big difference from the existing SISTAR 1000 and SISTAR 2000 with ceramic inserts. It must have been that some of the materials had to be downgraded to make the price more accessible.
Three color dials are supported, black, blue, and white. In particular, the black dial emphasizes a luxurious impression through the strong contrast of black and gold two-tone like the SISTAR 2000 version you saw earlier. It goes without saying that the background color of the dial and bezel insert is unified. All three versions are fastened with a steel bracelet, and only the white dial version comes with an additional interchangeable white silicone strap. The domestic launch price is in the low 500,000 won range, which is cheaper than the existing Sistar 1000 Chronograph. I think this is a new product that will interest those who are looking for a second diver’s watch that can be enjoyed lightly in all weather without having to prefer a mechanical type.
The new SISTAR 2000 Professional Powermatic 80 and SISTAR 1000 36mm will be pre-launched at the official Tissot E-boutique from June 1st and will be available at replica Tissot stores nationwide from the end of June.
